Pair of Safety Infrared Photocells. These photocells are used to stop the gates closing if an obstacle crosses the infra red beam passing across the gate opening when the gate is closing.

They can also be configured for other purposes like opening or closing the gate automatically once a car (or other object) crosses the beam at a certain point or many other non gate uses.
